What is the best thing about being your age?

I know exactly who I am!

What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?

At 45 years old I had my second son and he was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old. It was a very tough time in my life. I needed to step up. Being an advocate for him gave me the strength to make changes in the system for Johnny and others. That was actually the year I discovered just how strong I was.

 

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?

I don't believe in a bucket list. I believe in doing all the things you can and want to do as they present themselves by making the time to do them without the pressure of a “deadline.”

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

In my mind, perfection doesn't really exist and there is no such feeling as perfect happiness. Happiness is a choice made each day.

 

What is your most treasured possession?

I can honestly say I don’t have one!! I have many beautiful things but when I had to evacuate our home quickly from a fire, the only thing I grabbed on to was my family.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Being a mother to my two sons Zachary and Johnny and marrying the man of my dreams.

​

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

More self control! Sometimes I eat a little too much and I spend a little too much.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Taking time for myself.

​

What is a trait you are most proud of?

Kindness.

​

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t give your time and love to those who don't respect you.

What is your motto or favorite quote?

Choose happy, of course!

The same words I gave to my younger self: Don’t give your love and time to those who don’t respect you.
